Kamula (2 years old) arrived here on Monday.
Kamula came to us very sick (ear infections, malnourished and more). We took her to the doctor this morning, and I hope, now that she’s on some medicine, she will soon be feeling better.
She came to the store with us today on the way home from the doctor, and she seemed to really like being out. I also found that she really likes music. Every time we passed a shop that had music playing, she would get excited and start to wiggle around in my arms. I will have to put music on for her and see it she might dance. :)
Although she is still adjusting to living here, I think Kamula will do really well and grow to like us more and more. I’m encouraged that she doesn’t cry every time you set her down like she did the first day, and she went right to sleep last night without the previous nights crying. Yay!
Last night I was shocked at how well she took her medicine! I am used to Nusula with whom giving medicine is a battle every time, and here Kamula takes it with no problem. It was very refreshing, and I am learning to be very thankful for those little things.
Please add precious Kamula to your prayers. I’m really excited to see her personality as she begins to open up to us.
Blair is doing great and he loves to eat! This kid can pound some food. :) He comes in the kitchen, sometimes a good hour before dinner, and just looks at the counters in search of something to eat. He cracks me up! I wish so badly that I could talk to him, but I know so little Luganga and I am beginning to see that I am not gifted in learning languages - it's hard!
Nusula and Selah are also doing great, and it's funny how easy Nusula seems now that we have a new little two year old.
Brigitte....what can i say...thank you soooo much for introducing us to Kamula....and the fun update on Blair and the pictures too! I have been printing pictures with their names so i know who i am praying for....you are such a blessing thank you, thank you, thank you! HUG HUG!dayna
ReplyDeleteaw what a sweet heart Kamula is! thank you for keeping your blog updated.. I love to hear whats going on with serving His children - you and renee are amazing! : )
ReplyDeleteSing to them... you learned that already. Don't worry about the language barrier.
ReplyDeleteNew Living Translation from Matthew 21:15-16:
The leading priests and the teachers of religious law...heard even the little children in the Temple shouting, "Praise God for the Son of David." But they were indignant and asked Jesus, "Do you hear what these children are saying?"
"Yes," Jesus replied, "Haven't you ever read the Scriptures? For they say, 'You have taught children and infants to give You praise.'" (that's from Ps 8:2)
Kids already know to praise God. This is why music makes them jiggle! ;-)
